Attention parents! Are you looking for an affordable summer camp that provides an immersive musical experience for your child? Look no further! Greensboro Youth Chorus is excited to host our first Summer Choir Camp in partnership with Guilford County Schools Summer Arts Institute! This week-long summer camp is designed to create a meaningful and inspiring connection to music, providing students with the opportunity to learn singing and music skills.
During the camp, learning the selected music will be reinforced with a variety of exciting activities, including visual art, creative movement, dramatization, and more!
The Summer Choir Camp will be divided into two sessions: July 17 – 20 for rising 1st through 6th graders and July 24 – 27 for rising 7th through 12th graders. Each day will begin at 8:30am and conclude at 1:00pm. Sessions will be led by esteemed Greensboro Youth Chorus conductors LJ Martin and Claire Jurs. With many years of experience and a passion for teaching young musicians, they will guide students through enhancing their musical skills and knowledge.
As an added bonus, on Thursday of each week, students will have the opportunity to showcase what they’ve learned during a “inform-ance” at 12:15pm where parents, friends, and family are invited to attend and see their child’s progress firsthand. The choirs will sing the music they have rehearsed throughout the week, including one combined piece with all campers. We will also be providing a video recording of the “inform-ance” for parents that are unable to attend!
During each week, breakfast and lunch will be provided in partnership with Guilford County Schools. If your child has any allergy restrictions, please let us know. Additionally, students are welcome to bring their own food if they prefer. Tuition for one week is $110 total, which includes a non-refundable $25 deposit required upon registration. We are happy to offer need based scholarships (Scholarship Application) for students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. Please reach out if you have any questions.
